Yimiao Fang, an active classical pianist and piano educator who is giving performances and lectures constantly and diversely around the world, who is having a doctorate in piano performance (DMA) from the University of Hartford and a combined undergraduate and master degree in piano performance at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. She is currently the piano faculty of University of Hartford Precollege Division. Yimiao recently received three awards and were invited to perform at the Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) three times in 2024 spring, summer and 2025 spring, which as two First Place Winner and one Honorable Mention winner of international competitions. Yimiao has won the Steinway&sons Top Piano Teacher Award in New York, USA, and was the youngest judge of the Steinway&sons National Piano Competition in Nanjing, China for consecutive two years. Yimiao is also Official Steinway Educational Partner in the US. Yimiao has founded Forte Yearly Music Festival in China and she is also the CEO of Fym Cultural Media (Nanjing) Company and co-founder of Lincoln Square Music Management & Consultant Company. She is also a member of China Association for Promoting Children’s Culture and Art – Youth Arts Education Committee and official registered teacher of ABRSM Piano Exam (Beijing). Her piano solo concert "Salute Classical Music with Youth" was exclusively reported by dozens of mainstream medias such as Xinhua News Agency, Sohu.com, Sina News, NetEase News, ifeng.com, China.com, etc. Yimiao’s recent performance at the Steinway Hall – Global Headquarters in New York City has received great acclaims by New York Concert Review.

Yimiao is active on the international stage. She has been invited to participate in the Europe Music Festival in Germany (2018), the New York Summit Music Festival (2017), the Italy International Music Festival (2016), etc. with scholarships. She had performed and gave lectures in worldwide concert halls including Carnegie Hall in NYC, Steinway Hall – Global Headquarters in NYC, Lehman Hall at Harvard University, Zhengzhou Grand Theater in Zhengzhou, China, Steinway Hall in Nanjing, China, Greenfield Concert Hall in New York, USA, Saale Concert Hall in Halle, Germany, etc.
She had studied with Professor José Ramos Santana who is the first prize winner of the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition, the piano department chair of University of Hartford — the Hartt School and piano professor of New York University. She also studied with Dr. Marc Silverman, the previous chair of the Piano Department of Manhattan School of Music, the educator Prof. Phillip Kawin of Manhattan School of Music and the pianist and professor of Central Conservatory of Music, Prof. Yunjie Chen.
As an excellent student in school, she has been awarded many scholarships, for example MSM Scholarship from Manhattan School of Music; Hartt DMA Talent/Honors Award, the Graduate DEIJ (Diversity, Equity and Social Justice) Scholarship and William and Henriette Brand Scholarship from University of Hartford; The Evelyn Bonar Storrs Piano Scholarships Fund from the Musical Club of Hartford and invited to perform at the Evelyn Bonar Storrs 2025 Scholars Honor Recital, etc.
In 2021, Yimiao's piano master class and performance as one of Pearl River · Kayserburg International Youth Piano Competition Series Activity held at the Zhengzhou Grand Theater received enthusiastic responses and was widely acclaimed.
During more than a decade piano teaching career, the students she taught have won gold and silver awards in many international and Chinese piano competitions, such as The Sound of Music Australia-China International Cultural Exchange Competition 2025 Harvard Division, The 3rd Classic Music Awards International Competition, Melbourne International Music Competition, GOCAA New York International Piano Competition, International F.Liszt Piano Competition, GOCAA San Francisco International Piano Competition, Steinway&sons National Youth Piano Competition, Mittag International Piano Competition, Olympic Piano Competition, China Art Festival, Zhejiang Conservatory of Music Youth Art Festival Piano Show, etc. Yimiao Fang also won the outstanding piano instructor awards of these competitions. Her students are also active on the world piano stage. They have been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in NYC, Steinway Hall – Global Headquarters in NYC, Lehman Hall at Harvard University, America’s National Opera Center, Chengdu City Music Hall in China, Beijing Radio and Television Station, Melbourne Music Festival, Hungary, etc.
After several years’ online teaching, her online students around the world had achieved wonderful accomplishments, such as acceptance to Bachelor of Music degree as Piano Performance Major student in Nanjing University of Arts; they won the awards mentioned above and invited to perform around the world.
